What is American Mahjong?

American Mahjong is a four-player tile-based game adapted from traditional Chinese mahjong. Players use 152 tiles, wooden or plastic racks, and an official annual scorecard published by the National Mah Jongg League to build specific winning hand combinations. Playing with 13 tiles (and winning with a 14th), the goal is to match a line on the card. Matched your line? Declare mahjong!
